Manor Roofing Ltd are proud to have qualified for THE COMPETENT ROOFER SCHEME endorsed by the Government.
What does this mean for our customers?
It is a legal requirement that substantial roof refurbishment is notified to the Local Authority. This is to ensure that the work complies with current Building Regulations. Failure to do so could lead to prosecution and a fine of up to £5000.00.
It is therefore necessary to follow one of the following two options:
OPTION 1
The customer must apply to the Local Authority for a Building Notice at least 48hrs before the work commences.
The Building Notice will cost between £150.00 and £400.00.
The Local Authority will then arrange for a Building Inspector to visit the site.
OPTION 2
As a qualified member of THE COMPETENT ROOFER SCHEME,Manor Roofing Ltd are authorised to SELF CERTIFY that their work complies with current Building Regulations.
There is therefore no need for the client to involve themselves in organising a Building Notice, no need to make arrangements for a Building Inspector to call and no fees to pay.
Once Manor Roofing Ltd have completed the project they will request a certificate, one will be sent to the Local Authority and one to the building owner.
All certificates issued are backed by a 10 year warranty.
