Do I need planning permission to re-roof my property?
No, not normally, unless your property is listed or in a conservation area, however if you are unsure please check with your local authority.
I am re-roofing more than 50% of my roof, do I need to inform Building Control?
Yes, you need to apply for Building Notice at least 48 hours before the work begins. The Local Authority will then arrange for a Building Inspector to call on site, at a cost of between £150.00 & £400.00.
This system sounds both time consuming and expensive, is there an alternative?
Yes, Manor Roofing Ltd are part of the Competent Roofer Scheme and are able to self-certify that their work complies with current building regulations. On completion of the works you will be issued with a building regulations completions certificate by post direct from the competent roofer admin team. You will also receive a 10 year insurance backed warranty at no extra charge.
Do you ask for a deposit?
No, we don’t normally ask for a deposit, however we do ask for prompt payment (within fourteen days) upon completion of our works or, on larger projects we would render interim valuations for works completed within the month. Again, we would ask for payment within fourteen days.
Can I pay by Credit Card?
Yes, we are happy to accept payment from all major Credit and Debit Cards. With the competitive rates currently available on credit cards this can be an excellent way to help spread the cost of your new roof, or finance any repair works which are carried out. Please note that there is a small additional charge of 2.5% if you opt to pay by Credit Card, but no additional charge to use your Debit Card.
Is Manor Roofing a member of a credible Trade Association?
Yes we are members of The National Federation of Roofing Contractors which is the foremost trade association for the roofing industry. The NFRC demands high standards from its members and would take immediate action against us if these standards were not met.
